Port Washington Play Troupe
Plays
The founders of Port Washington Play Troupe loved dramatic, comedic and classical theater. The company produced plays consistently across the decades, even as our programming expanded into musicals and choral performances.
Productions included Harvey, The Little Foxes, Blithe Spirit, The Crucible, The House of Blue Leaves and A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed in Hempstead House, a former Guggenheim mansion now part of the Sands Point Preserve. In 1980, Tony-nominated Broadway star Robert Cuccioli appeared in Play Troupe’s Death of a Salesman.
Drama fans within Play Troupe are currently cooking up ways to revive this tradition. Interested parties should contact us!
